Would absolutely return. I don't know the exact labor rate, but based on this medium-size job, I would guess it's in line with local going rates. I presented a coupon, and it didn't show on my invoice, but since total charge was a bit less than discussed, and a couple of minor additional services were provided, I didn't quibble. Daniel, service manager, is personable and professional, and communicates promptly. Diagnosis was immediate and corresponded with work done. Job was completed on time (with effort to get it done earlier, no prompt from me). No pushy upsell. Great experience. Thank you!

I almost don't want to leave a review because I want to keep this amazing place all to myself! But seriously, GO HERE. Daniel is AMAZING. He truly truly WANTS to help the customer, he doesn't want to take your money, he wants to provide you with value and advice. As a young woman, I have NEVER felt comfortable with mechanics. They never explained what was going on, and they always tried to up sell me and charge more than was needed. I can actually trust The Garage. They will advise what is necessary, what is recommended, and what can wait. They will also offer advice on buying a new car; they will refer you to tire shops, body shops, etc. with good rapport. They are busy (with good reason) so make sure to plan ahead. I will be taking all my vehicles here for as long as I'm in the area. Service: Transmission

I recently drove my Ford Taurus up from California and in the last 100 miles my check engine light comes on. I had just hit 60k, so I thought I just needed a tune-up (code reader showed a cylinder misfire). Completely new to the area, I found The Garage in Renton through these google reviews, and I am so glad I did! Daniel’s crew did a full inspection, found out my alternator wasn’t working at all (I had just replaced the battery and had no idea!), a belt that needed replaced, and brakes that were on the edge of gone. Daniel talked through each job with me, informing me of his suggestions and what needed to be done with PATIENCE and KINDNESS. Talk about GREAT SERVICE! after I signed off on the jobs needed, it only took them ONE DAY to get my car back to me. They really took of me, not just my car, now my Taurus runs like NEW! Now the whole family has a good friend (Daniel) with a great, professional shop we can TRUST with our automobile needs! Great , quick service! And I really appreciate their honesty and their conservative recommendations on what needs fixed on our cars in the future. Most places would want to do the (unnecessary) work right away, but the garage always gives us an honest timeline on what can wait to be done. Highly recommend! Super friendly staff. Excellent service. I took my car in to find out where a noise was coming from. It only happens occasionally and ultimately it didn’t happen while the Garage had it (isn’t that always how it works) so I didn’t find an answer. However, I am grateful that the staff just told me that rather than making up stuff or guessing to try and get me to spend money. They even gave me a loaner car for the time being. 10/10 will take my car there now for basic maintenance. Service: General repairs & maintenance

I like the value, the personal relationship I have with the service manager and the team, the knowledgeable technical staff, and their commitment to quality. They stand behind their work. I came in for an oil change and asked them to check our a few items that other mechanics have not been able to give me answers to. I really like that they text you the report of the vehicle inspection and include pictures in the report for anything that is recommended to be addressed. I trust them and always feel well taken care of. Daniel, the manager, makes sure that the service exceeds your expectations. I also really appreciate the use of the loner car during the work.
